Black Point Coffee is roasted in Scarborough, Maine, which is located on the homeland of tribes of the Wabanaki Confederacy. We show our respect by carrying on the Wabanaki tradition of trade, gathering and healing among the community. We also want to express our gratitude to the Penobscot, Passmaquoddy, Maliseets, and the Mi’kmaq tribes for stewarding this land for generations.
What makes Black Point Coffee unique is our personal relationships with very specific coffee farmers that pride themselves in producing small lots of the very highest quality coffee beans.
Many roasters source their beans based on region, variety, flavor profile and cost. At Black Point Coffee we also make sure you know exactly who grew the beans and they know about you, our customers in Portland Maine.
We connect you to the coffee growers and to the local Portland community. Each bag of coffee has artwork produced by a local artist who appreciates knowing the identity of the coffee growers and shares their passion for the environment through landscape paintings of the Maine Coastline.
From growers around the world to the local coffee shop owners and everyone in between, we all share the passion for the crafting of coffee and the delicious results. Portland Coffee Hunters group is Black Point Coffee's way of giving back the community. We organize free visits to local shops and taste their finest coffees. On each tour, members get talk to the staff about their roasting process, coffee preparation and the flavors we taste in their coffees. 200 members and growing.
